Virtual Guitar is anything but a virtual guitar. Simple controls and not quite flesh out gameplay makes this game not worth the time considering other similar experiences/games. With other more powerful and better software out there really isn't much to be done with this game. Saying that it is for young children, who just wanting to “play” music with out the pressure of failing.In this it can be useful to them.
Virtual Guitar idea is to be able to play a guitar with the mouse and string each string to play music. This is the goal in principle but the execution isn't quite there. For one traditionally on a guitar there is a fret board, that you can control the note on each string that you play on. In Virtual Guitar there is none of that, you can only play each string one note. This won't cut it for more experience musicians who know how to play a guitar at a higher level.
Anther feature that makes this experience less of actually playing a guitar and more of a “game” is the fact that the key (note) or each string is not correct. This has some advances and disadvantages, as on a normal guitar the notes go from E, A, D, G, B, then E (heavy to skinny). As in the game it goes in order (example A, B, C, D, then E), this makes it a lot easier to make a sound sound like a song.
Both things makes it a lot easier for children to just come in with no music experience and to come in and make a little tune. But for a more experience person who have used other types of simple music software, then it isn't even worth it to look at. Saying that it isn't all bad when you start off by choosing between eight guitars (ES-335, Flying V, Les Paul, Explorer, FireBird, Melody Marker, SG, and Vegas) in which each have a variety of different looks. This is a nice touch in which at the very least you guitar can look different as you play (even-tho it does nothing to the actual gameplay).
With all the things consider, this game is not what you might have thinking off. This is not the type of game that is really a game, but more of a experience. This seems like something that you can find on IOS or Android devices. Younger children might find a few minutes of fun with this game but after 3 minutes or so it will wear off. There just isn't anything to do in this game. Saying that I give this game a 4.0/10. Just stay away from this game it isn't worth the time.
